DAR votes on Builder Salesperson Licensing Issue

I am pleased to announce that DAR voted to take a “no position” on the Builders Salesperson Licensing Issue today at their board meeting.  This does not meant that the fight is over or that the issue dead.  It simply means that DAR will not be a dog in the fight on this one.  The DREC is still intent on some sort of registration/licensing requirements enabled by a change to the statute through legislation to regulate Builder’s Salespersons, however, it will not be in their 2010 proposal to the Sunset Committee this month.  It will likely be discussed over the summer with a goal of DREC to have a draft ready to submit next February to the Sunset Committee for the 2012 Session to deal with.

The talking points and some background on this issue are available on the website under the Government Affairs Tab or in the Daily Sticks and Bricks Blog (rss feed available) which is linked on the front page.

Thank you to all of you who invested time and energy in this battle and joined us yesterday and in the past at the DREC subcommittee meetings.  This is how we get heard!

Don’t put down your swords…this was just 1 battle.  The war still rages on around us on many issues.

With Sincere and heartfelt appreciation!!!

How to win a regal award seminar still on!
