EmpowerAbility LLC Article Published in National Media

Debra Young of EmpowerAbility LLC published “Feature-matching products to your client’s needs: an Occupational Therapist’s perspective” in the April 2013 NAHB Remodelers CAPS Connection.  Young, a CAPS designee and NAHB approved instructor, was invited to be a tour guide by the NAHB Remodelers Council for their Aging-in-Place products tour and also invited by the 50+ Housing Council to guide a Universal Design products tour at IBS 2013. . Debra has  previously published in the CAPS Connection on a variety of Aging-in-Place topics.  You can read Debra’s article and see the most up to date information on CAPS here:

Debra continues to be actively supporting and promoting her CAPS designation.  Since August 2012, Young was invited to participate in the NAHB CAPS Board of Governors task group focusing on strengthening partnerships between CAPS remodelers and occupational therapists.  The task group recently sent out a survey to assist with identifying how the two groups can best work with each other for the benefit of homeowners.  Lastly, Debra was also invited by the Remodelers Council to be the occupational therapy representative to moderate the roundtable discussion “Partnering with Occupational Therapists on CAPS Remodeling Projects” at IBS 2013.
