HBADE Announces Read Aloud Volunteer Program

HBADE has selected Read Aloud Delaware as our Volunteer Program.  The Associates Council suggested this and the Board of Directors voted to approve last week.

In an effort to “pay it forward”, HBADE would like to ask members, staff of members, spouses, or anyone with an interest to volunteer to read to children in their school for about an hour a week beginning with the school year this Fall.

readaloud

Visit readalouddelaware.org and complete an application, then you will need to be fingerprinted and background check.  Walk in any time in Dover, appt needed in NC & Sussex.  Then a training class will be set up in August, so we will be ready to roll in September.  This is a very simple process.

Helping a child become a better reader is so rewarding, and allowing a child to read to an adult is a wonderful way to work on those reading skills.

Please consider offering a small amount of your time, it will make such a difference!
