Add $42,000 to the Cost of a House???

Coming up in early October, the ICC hearings on the 2015 building codes. As things currently stand – if all the changes that were proposed at the Preliminary Hearings in April were adopted – it would add as much as $42,000 to the cost of a house !!!!

NAHB calls on our state and local leaders to continue their outreach to code officials so they’ll carefully consider every code change discussed at the Atlantic City hearings Oct. 2-10, and the impact they will have on home buyers.

We appreciate your efforts on behalf of all our members and their customers: Please keep up the good work and get this message to your local code officials before they leave for the hearings.

You can look at a detailed description of the issues here at this webpage for a printable version.
