This past Monday the Home Builders Association of Delaware (HBA/DE) and its Associate Council, led by Debra Young of EmpowerAbility LLC, held their annual Bowling Event. The event was held at Bowlerama in New Castle, following the HBA/DE Monthly Board Meeting. Members & Board Members were able to mingle and bowl as a group. This setup is a new initiative developed this year to help members get a more interactive experience with their HBA/DE membership.
The night started with beer and pizza as the bowlers listened to a presentation about the 2015 International Builders Show by Jim McCulley, Watershed Eco, & Debra Young. Members even got the chance to hear directly from NAHB’s 2014 Chair of the Board himself, Mr. Kevin Kelly of Leon Weiner & Associates. For those of you who missed the presentation, you can view it here.
After the presentation, the bowling began. Scores varied from team to team, but generally everyone performed well. Robert Mass, Atrix Sustainable Improvements, out-shined the group, peaking at with a score of 183. He took home the award for Highest Individual Associate Score. Brian Rickards of Benchmark Builders won the counterpart award, Highest Individual Builder Score, with a score of 118.
Awards were also handed out for highest and lowest team scores. The highest scoring team of the night was made up of John Gormley, ProBuild, Christina Summa, WSFS, Geoff Grosso, Tarabicos Grosso, and Janie Yatsko, Pike Creek Mortgage Services, with an average score of 118. The lowest scoring team was made up of Jim McCulley, Mike Hoffman, Tarabicos Grosso, and Ivan Goldsberry, WSFS.
At the end of the night a 50/50 Raffle was held, winner Chris Reith, Geo-Technology & Associates, generously donated the winnings back into the organization.
HBA/DE would like to thank its Members & Board Members for a very successful and engaging event.
