Sunday, May 24, 2015 – Harry Truman once said, “Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our Country can never be repaid. America will never forget their sacrifices.” Clearly, the residents of Noble’s Pond have not forgotten. They will, in fact, be hosting a Flag Dedication and Raising ceremony at 11:00am on Sunday, May 24th. As part of this Memorial Day event, they offer an open invitation to area dignitaries and government officials to join in to honor all those who have served and fought to protect our freedoms and preserve the American way of life.

Organized by Noble’s Pond veterans, the day’s events will take place in front of The Point, the community’s Clubhouse. Ceremonies will open with an invocation, followed by the Presentation of Colors by the Marine Corps Color Guard Detachment 1775 of Oaklyn, New Jersey. The Raising of the Colors will be performed by Noble’s Pond and Marine Corps League veterans, followed by the traditional playing of Taps by the Marine Corp League bugler.

Continuing the day’s ceremonies, a Parade of Flags, featuring representatives from each of the six armed services, will then lead residents and guests into the Clubhouse. Here, the names of deceased veterans will be read aloud and honored for their service in the armed forces as symbolic carnations are placed in vases by grateful community residents.

At the conclusion of the official Memorial Day ceremonies, a hearty lunch will be served poolside for residents and guests alike.
