On Friday, May 29th, 2015, members and friends of the Home Builders Association of Delaware (HBA/DE) gathered at the Baycenter in Dewey Beach for the 23rd Annual Regal Awards. The Regal Awards recognize accomplishments in the home building industry from the previous year. Entries are judged by a panel of industry experts in categories for design, marketing, merchandising, best amenity value, and best home as well as excellence of sales-associates.

In 2014, the community with the Best Amenity Value was first time entrant, Bayside Community in Selbyville, Delaware by Carl M. Freeman Companies. Bayside has an impressive number of amenities, including: luxurious outdoor swimming pools, a signature golf course, an outdoor performing arts stage, and miles of nature trails, just to name a few. They also provide an unmatched, year-round schedule of programs, activities, entertainment and events for all ages.

Best Marketing Award of 2014 is based on the highest, cumulative total points of 3 marketing entries, covering various aspects of advertising such as ads, branding, events, and technology. This year, Schell Brothers innovative marketing won them.
Delaware’s Best Home is one of the most competitive awards. This year, The Ivy at Longacre by K. Hovnanian came out on top out of the 43 entrants. The Ivy is the epitome of affordable and convenient one-level living. With a starting price of $164,900 and over 1,200 square feet of living space, including 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, this plan has been the ideal solution for those looking for less maintenance but still enjoy the benefits of home ownership.

Community of the Year is awarded to a community in each county with the highest cumulative point score in select categories.
