Fifth Annual Build-PAC Raises Over $17,000

The Fifth Annual Perfect Pair: Cigars & Single Malt Scotch, hosted by Home Builders Association of Delaware (HBA/DE) in conjunction with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Build-PAC was held Wednesday, September 16th, 2015 at the University & Whist Club in Wilmington, Delaware.

Each year HBA/DE holds this fundraiser to support its national Build-PAC efforts. With the upcoming 2016 Presidential Election, now is more important than ever to help support the efforts to keep housing as an important and integral piece of the national economy. Lake Coulson, NAHB Vice President of Government Affairs, and Fred Hoppe, 2015 BUILD-PAC Chair, spoke on the importance of national support. This year, the event  exceeded its goal once again, raising over $17,000.00 in supportive funds.

Aside from smoking cigars and drinking scotch, the event is a lot of fun, even for those who don’t smoke cigars or drink scotch. It’s a night of unwinding through networking, hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and, of course, the auction run by Dave Curtis, Leon Weiner & Associates.

Thanks to Doug Hershman, Bayard, who secured the University and Whist Club. Thanks to our Title Sponsor Harry Miller, Regal Builders and Noble’s Pond, and thanks to our Cigar Sponsor Roger Wollaston, Creative Floors. We certainly owe thanks to our Delaware BUILD-PAC Trustee Steve Bomberger for all his guidance and support. And, of course thanks to all that attended, participated at the auction and those that were unable to attend but still contributed.
