HBADE Ramp Build Tribute

HBADE Associates Council Honored by State Legislators

The Associates Council received a Tribute Proclamation Plaque last week during a ceremony in front of the Delaware House of Representatives.

The Council was applauded and recognized for this award in recognition of our 2015 Ramp project build for an ailing and seriously ill Air Force Veteran that had become immobile, it had become difficult for him to exit and enter his home in his wheelchair.  Having heard of his dilemma from State Representative Bill Carson, our members teamed up to field measure Mr. Steele’s home; engage a Hodgson high school student to teach him to prepare a ramp building permit application; and build the ramp with members volunteering their time and donated all building materials.

Pictured at the Tribute Ceremony, l to r: Dave Foraker, Benchmark Builders; Ron Taylor, Master Shower Doors; Jim McCulley, Watershed Eco; Mike Janis, RCI; John Johnson, Karins and Associates; Brian Rickards, Benchmark Builders; State Representative Bill Carson; Sandra Steele; Howard Fortunato, HBADE; Debra Young, Empowerability LLC; Gabe Cox, student; and Jeff Haggerty, Grubb Lumber.

On behalf of HBADE, a hearty thanks to all of our volunteers for helping us help our community!
