As of March 2015, Kent County has changed the permit applications that they use. They are still receiving outdated forms. A copy of the new form can be found by clicking the link below. Below is the information they sent to us to pass along.
“We have highlighted the portion that should be filled out when submitting the permit. Applicant name at the top is your legal name to match your signature, NOT YOUR BUSINESS NAME. The second line is your relationship to the owner of the property. If you do not own the parcel, you should fill in who you are (i.e. Contractor, builder, etc. ). Your business name, address, phone and email are required below that. You MUST sign and date the application.
Towards the bottom of the page, you will find the “Building information” section. This needs to be completed specific to the plans you are submitting with the application. Only the two highlighted sections of the application should be filled out by the applicant. Everything else will be done internally by a member of the staff. We will no longer be accepting the old applications. If you would like to come in to get some applications for future use, we would be happy to supply them to you. If you need assistance filling out an application, a member of the permitting staff will be happy to help you. Thank you for your time and cooperation”.
