DEADLINE EXTENSION: Strong Neighborhoods Housing Fund

Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) is pleased to announce that the deadline for application submission for the 2016 Strong Neighborhoods Housing Fund (SNHF) has been extended to December 2, 2016!

Additionally, DSHA would like to clarify the following items relating to SNHF:

·        Contracts: while SNHF encourages strong partnerships with one lead applicant, during the award process, DSHA will consider subcontracts to partners with well-defined projects.

Rental Activities: projects utilizing SNHF for rental activities must target households with incomes below 80% AMI.

DSHA received approximately $5,500,000 from various financial mortgage settlements to maintain SNHF, which is set up as a revolving fund to be used for the acquisition, renovation, and sale of vacant, abandoned, foreclosed or blighted property throughout the State.

The funds are targeted for efforts that support community development, and/or transform neighborhoods that are experiencing blight or other forms of stress, including high crime.

Completed applications are due to DSHA by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2016.

If you are planning to submit an application, have a new project or program concept, or are a first time applicant, DSHA invites you to contact us for technical assistance prior to application submission.  Please contact Ruth Ann Jones at (302) 739-0205 or at
