Are Silk Socks Permitted For Use on Sites?

A question was brought up at recent nuts and bolts meetings regarding silt socks and if they are permitted for use on sites.

After review silt socks are permitted and are required to be installed in accordance with DNREC requirements. DNREC does permit this form of E&S control. Please contact Paul Perrone for where they are to be installed and if you have any questions with their installation. They should also be “red lined” on the plans for where to be used. Please contact your engineers to add this detailed option for controls on the site and/or lines and grades plans.

Thank You,

Anthony J. Sisofo, Jr.
