Delaware Special Election Saturday 2/25/17 – A Big Deal !

Attention HBADE Members: Will you be voting in the Special Election Tomorrow?

As you have already heard, voters in the Senate 10th District have the unique opportunity to be part of a historic vote February 25, 2017 for Delaware.  It really is an important race. Candidates running for the seat in this election are:

  • Stephanie Hansen, Democrat
  • Joseph Lanzendorfer, Libertarian
  • John Marino, Republican

This will be a special election to fill the Senate seat, as Bethany Hall Long, the previous office holder of State Senate District 10 was elected as our Lieutenant  Governor last November.  While we congratulate her on her win, it creates the vacancy and the vacancy created a tie of 10 Democrats and 10 Republicans.  The winner of this election will either break the tie, or create a 10-10-1 split if Lanzendorfer wins.  It is considered a tight race.

Whichever side wins will determine who controls the Senate – Republican or Democrat; or if it’s split Lanzendorfer.  While all three are excellent candidates, the Republicans are trying to break the Democrat control of state legislature, since for many years, Democrats have controlled all three venues: a Democrat as Governor; and Democratic control of both the State Senate and Representatives.

So this is an extremely important election, and ALL 35 thousand citizens in Senate District 10 should become informed of the candidates and then vote tomorrow on February 25, 2017

How to vote, where to vote and am I in Senate District 10?  Check this state elections website:

We are not telling you how to vote. We are telling you to find out if you are eligible to vote, get informed, and vote!
