In an effort to beef up its membership numbers, the Remodelers Council of Greater Tulsa recently beamed up one of its most successful ideas yet: a Star Trek-inspired membership campaign.
At the beginning of last year, members divided into Star Trek-themed teams and were awarded points based upon their recruitment efforts. Not only was the campaign creative—helping the council win a Council Award for Demonstrating Remodeling Excellence— it helped the council nearly double its membership numbers to 120 in less than a year.
This was just one of several success stories and best practices shared during the inaugural NAHB Remodelers Webcast. NAHB will continue to facilitate these webcasts each quarter for local remodelers council leaders across the country to meet and share ideas in real time about what’s working (or not working) for their councils as they strive to grow.
Other webcast participants shared ideas on door prizes and other recruitment techniques, as well as new incentive programs that help boost meeting attendance.
“By connecting leaders across the country via a convenient platform like these webcasts, we’re providing an opportunity for immediate, peer-to-peer exchanges of best practices and problem-solving strategies,” said 2017 NAHB Remodelers Chairman Dan Bawden. “We had a lot of positive feedback after our first quarterly webcast and we’re looking forward to another robust discussion sharing membership growth ideas during our next webcast in June.”
